There’s something really special about photographing cheerleaders where they’ve spent so much of their time—on the sidelines, under the open sky, in the stands. The football field isn’t just turf. It’s a whole vibe.

We started with some strong, bold shots in the bleachers (you can’t miss that LPHS blue and orange—so good on camera), and Averie’s megawatt smile instantly set the tone. With her pom-poms in hand and that uniform catching the light just right, she owned every frame.

Averie’s Session Highlights

One of my favorite cheer senior pictures ideas? She was sitting right on the football goal post, totally relaxed but still radiating that cheerleader strength and presence. It’s the kind of image that just feels iconic—like her whole senior year wrapped into one frame.

We made the most of the natural light, letting it highlight the blues in her uniform and the sparkle of her poms. She brought both orange and blue ones (LPHS knows how to bring color), and we rotated them for a little visual variety throughout the shoot.

Everything about this session screamed confidence. From big laughs in the stands to action poses on the turf, Averie was totally in her element—and that’s always the goal.

A Future Nurse with a Whole Lot of Heart

Here’s the part that gets me: Averie’s headed to Wayne State University to study nursing. She’s already making moves to care for people, to lead, to make a difference—and this session was such a cool moment to freeze in time before she jumps into that next chapter.

I’m always honored to capture seniors at this turning point. It’s a celebration, a send-off, and a spotlight on everything they’ve worked so hard for.
