I’m so excited to share this sneak peek from Brian’s senior portraits session in downtown Ann Arbor! We made the most of some iconic Ann Arbor locations for senior pictures — including Graffiti Alley, Nickels Arcade, and the historic Law Quad — to give his gallery a distinctly Ann Arbor vibe with a casual, confident style that’s all his own.
Brian is a senior at Skyline High School in Ann Arbor, MI, and he’ll be heading to the University of Michigan this fall — Go Blue! His session was all about keeping it real, with easygoing outfits and natural backdrops that reflect who he is right now. No stiff poses. No forced smiles. Just relaxed moments around a city that’s already part of his story.
We started around the U of M Law Quad, where the incredible architecture makes every shot feel timeless. Then we walked over to Nickels Arcade for a completely different look — bright, urban, and effortlessly cool. Graffiti Alley added one last punch of color and personality, with layered murals that brought out the street-style edge of his hoodie-and-sneakers look.
This is why I love doing casual senior portraits in Ann Arbor. There’s so much variety within walking distance — from historic architecture to colorful street art — and it all comes together to create something truly personal. Whether you’re headed to college here or just love the city’s vibe, downtown Ann Arbor is full of options that let your personality shine through without the need for overdone setups or cookie-cutter poses.
